VOTE FOR NORTH WEST ARTISTS IN SATMA 2022 – ACSR By Vusi Kama The North West Department of Arts, Culture, Sport and Recreation (Acsr) has made a clarion call to citizens of the province and beyond to vote for the South African Traditional Music Achievement (Satma) Awards nominees who hail from the province. The awards ceremony will be held in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, on October 1. Ten nominees from the North West made the cut when the announcement was made in Witbank earlier. They include Acsr, which has been nominated in the ‘’Best Department of Arts and Culture’’ category and a departmental intern, Thapelino Medupe (see side bar). In previous editions of the awards, the department walked home with the “Best Department of Arts and Culture” in East London (2013), and “Best Arts and Culture Directorate” in Mbombela last year.
